The 2011 American Buffalo Gold Proof Coin went on sales on 19 May at noon Eastern Time for US$1,760 while the BU version went on sale since 14 march 2011.
At the launch of the 2011 version, the US Mint would have stopped selling the 2010 version a few days before.
